About this race
Iceland's flagship gravel race, run by Lauf Cycles through the volcanic highlands where the North American and Eurasian plates pull apart. The signature Rift route is 200 km of black sand gravel, mossy lava fields and unbridged river crossings, with 2,600 m of climbing and a 14-hour cutoff. Four distances on offer: Crack (60 km), Crevasse (140 km / 1,700 m), Rift (200 km / 2,600 m), and the new Abyss ultra (330 km). The distance and elevation logged here are for the 200 km Rift. Registration opens 1 September.

Lodging & getting there
Fly into Keflavík (KEF) — roughly 20–24 hrs from Singapore with one or two connections. Hvolsvöllur is about 1.5 hrs east of Reykjavik by road, so plan on a hire car or shuttle. Race pack pickup starts midweek at Lauf Cycles HQ in Reykjavik before moving to the Hvolsvöllur base.
Hvolsvöllur is a small town and beds fill early for race weekend — guesthouses, cabins and camping all book out well ahead. The Rift publishes a "Where to stay" guide on their site; sort accommodation as soon as your entry is confirmed.
