A shakedown ride to find issues or to create them?
The route was planned to be a mix of rough, technical sections of trail along T15 and Zheng Hua Park, long road sections under the heat and sun, and ending at Pasir Ris park to test out camp and cook equipment for future bike packing trips.
And rough it was.
We had a multitude of equipment failures not inclusive of:
1. Bryan’s panniers tore apart
2. Shannon panniers tore apart
3. Rui Ming's bag flew out of the basket, And he crashed due to a kid at Coney Island and had a damaged leg and rack.
4. Bernard fell like 5 times and we had a full 3 bike pile up down the slope (It was hilarious). His rack bolt flew off somewhere and had to reinstall it.
5. Ore had a rear puncture that needed 3 plugs at Serangoon river.
6. Lionel’s rear wheel fell out after Zheng Hua Park.
Great eventful ride that really tested everyone and their setups on longer trips that they might be going for.
But through the issues, everyone stayed and helped one another, with smiles all around and an adventurous spirit, issues were resolved, problems were fixed and we continued rolling along to our end destination.
Till our next adventure.
